Welcome to Digital Reef eDiscovery Help

As you work in Digital Reef eDiscovery, you can launch the HTML5-based Digital Reef help to get context-sensitive information (for example, information about a specific dialog). You can also use the Search box (located top right) to help you find topics with pertinent information.

Digital Reef eDiscovery supports both Early Case Assessment (ECA) and a large set of administrative operations, depending on the permissions defined for a given role. Upon login, your Home Page shows the available Organizations and Projects that you can work in based on your role-based permissions. The following summarizes the provided Organization roles that apply to eDiscovery:

  • Users in the Organization Administrator role have permissions to manage all aspects of a Project (for example, import, export, and all Project and Organization Settings).
  • Users in the Project Administrator role by default have view permissions for all Project Data nodes in the Navigation Tree and add/edit permissions for some of those nodes, such as Tags, Folders, Saved Searches, Workflows, Comparisons, and Synthetic Documents. This role also by default has document-related permissions to add or remove Tags from documents, add or remove documents from a Folder, download native documents, and download PDFs. Document reports are also available to this role by default. This role has view permissions to some settings and the ability edit the list of Metadata View Fields.
  • Users in the Project Member role by default have more limited permissions, but can perform a wide range of document search and analysis techniques that make ECA quick and easy.

Users are either Organization Users created for a given Organization, or System Users. System Users are defined by an Administrator with permissions to support one or more Organizations in a given role. System Users can log in to eDiscovery without specifying an Organization name and see a list of Organizations made available to them. The System User has an assigned role for each member Organization. Note that System Users can also log in by specifying a given Organization name to just gain access to that Organization.

Note: If your Administrator has set a System Notification Message (for example, to notify you of planned system maintenance), you will see that message after you log in.

  • Support for created Synthetic Documents of selected data that help you search using the data across the Project.
  • Support for Folders and document routing of key results.
  • Support for management of Custodian-specific information and support for tracking the Non-Custodial Data in the Project.

  • A variety of search techniques, with the ability to generate Saved Search queries and track Search History.
  • A variety of document views, either all documents, Email Threads, and reports.
