Requires System Groups - View permissions to view System Groups, Add/Edit permissions to manage System Groups

A System User with the appropriate permissions can use this popup to do the following:

  • Assign a System User or System Group membership to one or more available Organizations.

  • Remove a System User's or System Group's membership from one or more assigned Organizations.

This popup provides a list of Available Organizations versus Assigned Organizations to manage Organization membership for the selected System User or System Group.

This popup has two lists with checkboxes for the entries. Both lists of Organizations are in alphabetical order and offer a filter box to filter by Organization Name.

Available List Information and Options

The Available Organizations list includes the Organizations (in an Available state) to which the System User or System Group can be assigned membership. Click an Organization in this list (using the checkbox or by clicking in the row) to select it and then click the right arrow button to add the selected Organization to the Assigned list.

Note: Any Organizations that are in a Delete Pending state will be grayed out and unavailable for selection, and a tooltip will state that the Organization is pending deletion.

  • Filter text box – You can use the Filter text box on the Available Organizations list to filter by Name. (The icon indicates that filtering is available.) Using the Filter box enables you to pinpoint the items you want to work with based on a Filter term search containing one or more characters you enter. You can explicitly apply a filter by typing one or more characters in the text box and clicking Enter (the return key). If you type one or more characters in the text box, the software will automatically apply the filter for you, and the text box changes to a yellow background color. For any applied filter, you can then clear the filter by removing the text in the box and clicking Enter, by removing the text from the box, or by clicking the that appears at the far right of the Filter box. Clearing a filter restores the list to its original state.
  • Organization Name – The name of a given Organization.

Assigned List Information and Options

The Assigned Organizations list includes the available Organizations to which the System User or System Group has been assigned membership.

Note: Any Organizations that are in a Delete Pending state will be grayed out and unavailable for selection, and a tooltip will state that the Organization is pending deletion.

To remove membership of a System User or System Group from an Organization, click the appropriate Organization in the assigned list to select it and then click the left arrow to move the selected Organization back to the Available Organizations list.

  • Organization Name – The name of a given Organization.
  • User Role | Group Role – The current role assigned to the System User or System Group within a given Organization. If this is a System User being assigned for the first time, the initial role will be Organization Administrator. You can use the drop-down to select another available role, if desired. Supplied Organization roles that are relevant to eDiscovery include the following:
    • Organization Administrator — This role always has permissions to manage all aspects of a Project in an Organization (for example, Import, Export, and all Project and Organization Settings). This role cannot be edited or deleted.
    • Project Administrator — This eDiscovery role by default has view permissions for all Project Data nodes in the Navigation Tree and add/edit permissions for some of those nodes, such as Tags, Folders, Saved Searches, Workflows, Comparisons, and Synthetic Documents. This role also by default has document-related permissions to add or remove Tags from documents, add or remove documents from a Folder, download native documents, and download PDFs. Document reports are also available to this role by default. This role has view permissions to some settings and the ability to edit the list of Metadata View Fields.
