Generate and Use the Project Source Tracking Report

From the Dashboard item in the Navigation Tree, you can click Generating Source Tracking Report to generate a detailed Source Tracking Report for the data in your Project. Once this report is generated, you can download it (using the Work Basket Download option for the associated task).

  • The Source Tracking Report enables you to view statistics about all imported data, broken down by the following:
    • Batch

    • MediaID

    • Custodian

    This report is a snapshot of the data in the Project. It contains the total amount of data imported at the time you generated the report.

    Depending on the size of the Project and how much data you have, this report may take time to generate.

    The Source Tracking Report is generated as an XLSX with the naming convention DR_sourcetrackingreport-<timestamp>-<projectname>.xlsx. It has the following information:

    • Batch;MediaID;Custodian — Each row has an entry representing the combination of a Batch value, a MediaID value, and a Custodian value (for example, Batch01;MediaID01;Custodian01). The entries are in alphanumeric order.

    • Batch — The Batch value for the entry (for example, Batch01).

    • MediaID — The MediaID value for the entry (for example, MediaID01).

    • Custodian — The Custodian value for the entry (for example, Custodian01).

    • Count — The count of all files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Size — The size of all files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Duplicates Count — The count of all duplicate files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Duplicates Size — The size of all duplicate files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Source Files — The total number of source files imported for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. These files are not extracted from any other file.

    • Source Files Size — The total size of source files imported for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. These files are not extracted from any other file.

    • Source Files Duplicates — The total number of source file duplicates imported for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Source Files Duplicates Size — The total size of source file duplicates imported for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodan entry.

    • Expanded Files — The total number of files extracted from other files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. This includes files within container files (archives).

    • Expanded Files Size — The total size of files extracted from other files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. This includes files within container files (archives).

    • Expanded Files Duplicates — The total number of file duplicate files extracted from other files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. This includes files within container files (archives).

    • Expanded Files Duplicates Size — The total size of duplicate files extracted from other files for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. This includes files within container files (archives).

    • Parent Emails — The total number of parent emails for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Parent Emails Size — The total size of parent emails for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Parent Emails Duplicates — The total number of parent email duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Parent Emails Duplicates Size — The total size of parent email duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Attachments — The total number of email message attachments for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Attachments Size — The total size of email message attachments for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Attachments Duplicates — The total number of message attachment duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Attachments Duplicates Size — The total size of email message attachment duplicates for a givenBatch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edocs — The total number of eDocs for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. These are files that are not an email, not from an email, not an embedded document, and not any type of archive (for example, not a file or email archive). These are files that do not fall into any of the following other document classes: emails, email archives (containers) such as PST, OST, and NSF, any type of attachment, file archives (compressed files such as ZIP), or disk images.

    • Edocs Size — The total size of eDocs for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edocs Duplicates — The total number of eDoc duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edocs Duplicates Size — The total size of eDoc duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edoc OLE Attachments — The total number of eDoc OLE attachments for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edoc OLE Attachments Size — The total size of eDoc OLE attachments for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edoc OLE Attachments Duplicates — The total number of eDoc OLE attachment duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Edoc OLE Attachments Duplicates Size — The total size of eDoc OLE attachment duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Archives — The total number of message archives for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry. These are email container files such as PST, OST, and NSF).

    • Message Archives Size — The total size of message archives for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Archives Duplicates — The total number of message archive duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Message Archives Duplicates Size — The total size of message archive duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Directories — The total number of directories for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Directories Size — The total size of directories for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Directories Duplicates — The total number of directory duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Directories Duplicates Size — The total size of directory duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Disk Images — The total number of disk images for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Disk Images Size — The total size of disk images for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Disk Images Duplicates — The total number of disk image duplicates for a Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Disk Images Duplicates Size — The total size of disk image duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Archives — The total number of file archives for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Archives Size — The total size of file archives for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Archives Duplicates — The total number of file archive duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.

    • Archives Duplicates Size — The total size of file archive duplicates for a given Batch-MediaID-Custodian entry.
