View Project Access History

Home > Status > Project Access History ...

The Project Access History option provides information about Users accessing Projects in Digital Reef. By default, System Users in any role can view this information by selecting Status > Project Access History on the Home page or Project Dashboard. The Project Access History page opens in a new browser tab. When you are done viewing it, you can either close the tab or use it to view other Status menu items, such as the Job Management Queue or Monitoring.

Because each entry covers a single login session during which a specific User accessed a specific Project, a given User may appear in multiple entries reflecting multiple login sessions and Projects accessed. For example, if a User accesses three Projects during one session, that results in three entries, likewise if they access the same Project in three different sessions.

Project Access History Information

The columns displayed in the Project Access History are as follows:

  • Username, Role, First/Last Name, Email - Information about the User who accessed the Project. The meaning of some of this information varies depending on whether Digital Reef is configured for TransPerfect Authentication (TP Auth) or Standard Authentication; for information about these authentication methods, see Add or Edit an Organization User.
  • Project Name/Description, Organization - Information about the Project accessed.
  • Access Date - The date and time of the User's first access to the Project during the session .
  • IP Address - The IP Address from which the User connected to Digital Reef to access the Project.

To find the entry or entries you are looking for, you can filter all but the IP Address column (the Role column uses a drop-down rather than a text box). The Username, Access Date, and IP Address columns are sortable.

Project access data is retained indefinitely. To review or search a large number of entries, you may find it useful to click the download icon at the bottom of the page to download the information as a CSV file, which reflects any filters in place.

Note: Reef Express user activity is based on Organization access rather than Project access, but is still logged as the latter. Therefore, whenever an Organization is opened in Reef Express to create, view, or edit a Project or Data Set, a separate Project access history entry is created for that User and each Project in that Organization.
