Requires System User with a System-level Role and Permissions

Note: For 5.2.5.x or later, all new templates for Index Settings and Billing Reports will be for Parsing Library Version V2.

Users in a role with the appropriate permissions can create a template within the category of templates you selected. Once you create a template, you can select it and then tailor it to suit your needs. You may want to examine the default templates for certain types of templates before specifying your own. From eDiscovery, most template types are created and edited at the Organization level (or System level), but two template types are created and edited at the Project level as well: Export Fields and Load File Import.

Use the Edit option for a given template to change the basic properties of a template you selected. You may want to change the name, or control whether or not a template is the default (if you have templates other than the default).

Note: Templates and Template Profiles can also be defined at the System level using the System Settings tab, for System Users with a System-level role and the appropriate permissions. System-level templates and Template Profiles must be created and selected, but cannot be set as a default template. If System templates are available and you have the appropriate permissions, you have the option to choose a System template during Project creation instead of using the default Organization templates. See Add and Use Templates for more information about using Organization templates.

  • Description — Optional text that briefly describes the purpose of this template.
  • Click OK when you are ready to commit the operation, or Cancel to cancel the operation.

Note: For a given template at the Organization or Project level, you can select the Select Set As Default option, which marks the selected template as the default template. This is not available for the Default template of a given type, or for any other template already set as the Default. It is not available for System Templates. It is also not available for Template Profiles.
