Select a Connector File for Bulk Search
Bulk Search > Load from file > Connector file
Requires Connector Access Permission
This dialog enables you to upload a text file with queries or metadata field values from a selected Connector and Data Area.
Select a Connector
From a list of available Connectors, select a Connector by clicking the entry for the Connector in the table. Each Connector is shown with the following information:
- Connector Name— The name assigned to the Connector.
- Description — The description for that Connector.
- Type — The type of Connector (for example, CIFS, NFS, Exchange, or SharePoint). For information about the information used to create a Connector, see Create a Connector.
- Mode — The mode of the Connector, either Read or Read/Write.
- Server — The IP address or URL associated with the Connector.
- Path — The mount point for the Connector, which determines what you see in the Folder area.
Navigate to Select Your Text File
As soon as you select a Connector, the appropriate Folder information appears below the Connector list on the left. In this area, you can browse the Connector contents to view the available Folders and text files.
At the appropriate location, click to select the appropriate text file, which populates the path information with the selected file in the Path field.
Note: In the text file, make sure that each query is on a separate line, and that the file has no blank lines (to avoid extraneous non-match values in the generated report). For a file with standard search queries, be sure to use the correct search syntax (for example, for range or proximity searches, if applicable). If you selected the By Metadata Field option, use the correct format for the metadata field selected (for example, use Document number format if you have selected Document Number).
Once you are satisfied with your file selection, click the appropriate action button:
- OK — Uses the selected Connector file for the Bulk Search. Upon return to the Bulk Search, you can validate the text file, whose location/name is displayed in the queries box.
- Cancel— Cancels the operation.
