Manage Report Settings in a System Template

Home > Settings drop-down > System Settings > Templates > Reports
Project > Settings drop-down System Settings > Templates > Reports

Requires System-level Reports - View permissions to view the information, Add/Edit permissions to manage the template information, Delete to delete a template

System Users with the appropriate System-level permissions can manage Report Settings in a System template from the System Settings tab. This enables control of the individual reports generated and displayed for different views of the Reports tab in all Project using the template. The Report Settings control individual reports for the following types of views:

  • Imports
  • each Data Set
  • Project Data

Initially, a given Reports tab shows you all reports that apply to that particular type of view. If you want, you can disable the generation of selected reports for the Imports, Data Set, or Project Data views by manipulating the Report Settings at either the Project level, or by loading in settings from a template.

When you select a template type from the System Settings, a user with the appropriate permissions can use the top-level Templates context menu to perform the following action:

  • Create a template by clicking the (New Template) option, which launches the New Template properties dialog.

For a selected template, a user with the appropriate permissions can click the ellipses and use the context menu to perform the following actions:

  • Save to Template – Launches the Save to Template dialog, which enables you to save current settings to an available template, or select New Template, which launches the New Template dialog.
  • Load from Template – Launches the Load from Template dialog, which enables you to load the settings from a System template or Organization template you select using the option. The loaded settings and fields then appear.
  • Edit – Launches the Edit Template dialog, which enables you to edit the template name and/or description of the selected template.
  • Delete – Delete a template, which causes the display of a popup asking you to verify the deletion of the template from the Organization.

Any disabled report will be labeled Disabled Report when you go to the Reports tab for the appropriate view type. Click Update from a Reports tab to ensure that the most recent enabled/disabled settings are reflected.

When all reports are selected to be generated, rendering the reports for a view with a large number of documents (for example, greater than 50,000) may take time. If report generation is taking a considerable amount of time, an in-progress Generate Reports task appears in the Work Basket. If you want, you can cancel the report generation task in the Work Basket.

Report Checkbox Options per View Type

The Report Settings help you identify whether a given report is enabled or disabled for a particular view type. Use the checkboxes for each view type to determine whether that report is generated and displayed for the view.

Note: Search result views always begin with a Search Summary and provide a set of key charts that apply to the appropriate view type.

For a given report, then the report does not apply to that particular view type. For example, the Scan Report Summary applies only to a Data Set view and the Date Report applies only to a Project Data based view.
