The Synthetic Documents summary provides information about the Synthetic Documents available in the Project.

You can create a Synthetic Document to contain a block of text or terms that you want to find in another view within the Project. You can populate a Synthetic Document by adding text to the Synthetic Document text box, or by copying text selected from a document in the Document Viewer and using the Add Selected Text To > Synthetic Document option. You can then use the populated Synthetic Document to run a Search by Synthetic Document against a view. This search detects document similarity to the Synthetic Document content. You can also use an empty Synthetic Document if you by chance wanted to search for documents without text.

Synthetic Documents are identified by the icon .
