View and Manage Settings in the Project

Home > selected Project > right-click Settings
Project > Settings drop-down > | Project Settings ...

Your permissions determine whether you can view and/or manage the individual settings in the Project.

Project Settings

When you are in a Project, clicking Settings enables you to select Project Settings from the drop-down and navigate to the Project Settings tab in the Settings window. You can also navigate to the Project Settings from the Home page, using the right-click Settings option for a selected Project. This tab displays the Project name and Project description at the far right of the screen (for example, myproject1 - Customer X P1 Project).

The following General Project settings appear based on permissions to the individual settings (for example, View permissions):

  • Preferences — Users with the appropriate permissions can view and set Project Preferences, such as the Time Zone and Hide Duplicates setting.
  • Email Delivery — User with permissions can control whether Workflow and Export Comparisons reports generate email delivery via specified email addresses. See Email Delivery for more information.

The following eDiscovery Project settings appear based on permissions to the individual settings (View, Add/Edit, and Delete permissions, where applicable):

Note: Clicking the ellipses to the right of given Project Setting in the Settings tree on the left enables you to select the Save to Template and Load from Template options, assuming you have the appropriate permissions (for Save to Template, Add/Edit Permissions to the given Organization Template, and for Load from Template, Add/Edit Permissions to the given Project Setting.

  • Tags — Users with permissions can control the availability, name, and color of Tags. See Project Tags for more information.

Note: Save to and Load from operations for many settings (including Analytic settings, Index settings, Reports, Metadata View, Load File Import, Billing Report, and search- and export-related settings) observe an "overwrite" behavior. For example, for a Load from operation, your current settings are replaced by the settings from the selected template/settings. Note that some settings, such as Patterns, Tags, Domain Lists, Alias Lists and Excluded Content observe an "append" behavior instead. For example, for a Load from operation, your current items are preserved and only new, unique items are added.

Organization Settings

Users with the appropriate permissions can move from the Project Settings tab to the Organization Settings tab, which enables management of the Organization Settings. The Organization Settings tab includes the Organization name (for example, org111).

You can navigate to these settings one of two ways based on permissions:

  • You can select an Organization from the Home page and use the right-click Settings option to view only the Organization Settings.
  • When you are working within a Project, you can click Settings and navigate from the Project Settings to the Organization Settings.

After you switch to either Project or Organization Settings, you can close the window to return to the Project view.
